OVERVIEW

Uber Eats is an online food ordering and delivery platform launched by Uber in 2014. Users can read menus, reviews and ratings, order, and pay for food from participating restaurants using an application on the iOS or Android platforms or through a web browser. Users are also able to tip for delivery.

The UX portfolio project I will use is redesigning a Uber eats app. I wanted to add additional features that were not available in the original app.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES :

UX/UI Designer & User Research

TOOLS:

Adobe XD

As a UX designer, I had the opportunity to freelance redesign the Uber Eats app. I developed high-fidelity mockups and clickable prototypes to enhance user engagement.

Mobile App: Customer view Redesign

Problem

Currently, Uber eats does not have an option for the user to see flash sales. I have included this in my redesign so the user can get an idea of the available sales. As well as, customers always end up ordering from the same restaurants, so I have included a New Eats section at the homepage of this app so users can explore their taste pallets. Lastly, the uber eats app right now does not allow users to book restaurants. I decided to incorporate this feature in the app's redesign so that everything can happen all in one place and can increase user engagement in the app.

Process

To find the root problem with the app, I checked out customer reviews to aid me when redesigning the app. While redesigning this app, I made a flowchart, wireframes and mockups to back my research up.

Navigate Flow Chart

Here is the user flow I design so that users can see how to navigate through the app.

Mockups

I have redesigned the interface and given users a bigger space for text and photos to view.

Homescreen

I have added the option to sign up with Google instead of your phone number; later on, when you order, you will be able to add your phone number.

Homepage

I have added a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen and the search icon at the top, so users don't have to go to a different page to search for things for the app's current design. I have also included a profile icon at the top of the screen. Alongside, I have included the booking restaurants option.

Prototype

I also prototyped the app to see when the user clicks each button where it takes them.

Thank you for reading! This is my first UX/UI case study, and Iā€™m so happy to do it finally. Please give me feedback; I would love to know what you guys think.
